Crystal Falls Chapter 1.0 Crystal O'Riley: Founder

Crystal Falls with additions and still growing.

Crystal Falls is a large, peaceful place, with plenty of beach front property for sale. My family founded Crystal Falls many years ago, and I was named after this place. I have loved growing up here, and finally found the home of my dreams. Would the man of my dreams follow and maybe a perfict family of 5 children?

Okay, okay; I am jumping a head of myself. I need to find a job before I find a man and have children. I am a hopeless romantic and love is always on my mind. Falling in love is hard when there are vampires everywhere and I like my blood in my body not in someone's mouth.

I drove my Toyota Prius down to Crystal Tower and got a job in the business career. It was just my luck that when I got there Samis had just fired Molly Thorn and highered me on the spot. It was a stressful first day, so when it was time to go home I headed to my favorite bar.

There was no one at the Crystal Dragon when I got there so I turned on the music, and before I could order a drink, my co-worker Fredrick "Fredie" Grossman was standing in front of me with two drinks.
(Yucky last name, I know.) My heart began to flutter and my knees got weak when he walked over.
"I thought you might want an energy drink, you look tired," his voice sounded like a velvet blanket warming my heart.

I giggled a nervously and cleared my throat, "Thank you for the drink, but I am really not tired."
His mouth broke into a smile and he replied smartly, "You should be you have been running through my mind since we met this morning."

I giggled again and took the drink. Was he flirting with me?

"What is the name of this drink?" I was trying to make small talk as he gazed in to my eyes and tilted his head to the left, and a very dreamy look came over his face.

"Llama Head, why do you like it?" He asked very smoothly.

"I do," I sounded dreamy to my own ears.

We continued to talk about our favorite things. I found out he really likes Egyptian music, which I have never really listened to. His favorite color is blue and tri-tip steak was his favorite meal  befor becoming a vampire.

All at once I began to feel dizzy and a voice spoke in my head, saying,"There is something about his bright green eyes, they are like pools of light. You want to take him to your home. He won't hurt you."

I blinked a few times and shook my head. "What did you say, Fredie?" I asked.

"I didn't say anything, but I would like to; 'you are the most beautiful woman I have ever met." Then he just stood there.

He is flirting with me!

It took me several minutes to get my train of thought back in order. I looked at my drink and tipped it to my lips and finishing it as slowly as I could while I thought of something to say. I am kind of shy when it comes to men. Especially the ones that say something like that.

"Would you like to play a game of Shuffleboard?" I asked once my drink was gone.

"I would like that very much, I'll pay too. Then we can call this our first date." He said flashing a very handsome smile.

Then more seriously Fredie said, "You can even go first."

I wasn't sure if I should be scared, is he good at the game or if he was showing signs of insanity.

"I have to say, I really don't know how to play the came, maybe you should go first?" I replyed.

"I really don't know how either, I think you play like this," Fredie said as he slid the puck on the table and then let it go. it stopped about 3/4 of the way down the board.

"Your turn!" He said with the velvet voice again. I like that voice, I feel comfortable when I hear him talk.

We had finished our game when a few other townies showed up. "I told you I don't know how to play."

I walked around to the other side of the board and picked up the pucks, when Fredie chuckled.

"It's okay, Crystal, I will give you another chance to beat me at the game." Fredie said when he looked at the board.
"Oh, I don't know if I will get any better at it, that is unless you give me lessons." Trying my hand at flirting.

"Well let's for get about the game and go look at the stars," He said, shrugging his shoulders.

"I would like that," I said after removing my hands from my head.

Just then the Mixologist called out, "Last call for drinks, and if you need a cab let me know."

We looked at the stars, until almost sunrise.

Fredie leaned over and whispered in my ear, "I think you are really one of those stars, that has fallen to earth."

I couldn't help but giggle my nervous laugh. He knew all the wrong lines but they were flattering coming from him.

"Would you like to come home and make sure I don't go back at the first glimps of morning light?" I knew how cheesy it sounded in my head so I figured it would work on him.

"Sure, would you like me to drive or would you like to drive?"  He asked while laughing.

"Why don't we take a cab, we have both been drinking. I will pay this time." I suggested casually.
The cab ride was very nice, the whole way to my place Fredie only wraped his arm around my shoulders. Quite the gentleman.

Once at my place he handed me a boquet of red roses. "Thank you for inviting me over. I could sleep on the couch if you would like."

"I have an extra bedroom up stairs and an other one here on the main floor asside from my own that I don't use." I said casually.

I put the flowers down on the table next to the front door, and moved in for our first kiss.

I was a real "WOW!" of a kiss too.

"Holy Crow!" Fredie said once he released me. "I really need to go. I will see you tomorrow."

"Is everything okay?" I asked, with a fear that the kiss was not as good for him.

Fredie took in a deep breath and explained, "I just remembered my work clothes are at home and if I stay I might not wake up in time to run to the bar and get my car and change for work."

"Okay. Well I had a great time. Call me sometime if you want to go out again." I said a little disapointed that he was leaving.

It was only Sunday morning, but I didn't want to push the issue. Maybe he had a girlfriend or a wife, or just had to go.

I just watched him walk out and hoped he would call me.
